Broccoli has a positive impact on our body’s detoxification system. The phytonutrients in broccoli turn on genes that boost production of enzymes involved in detoxification. This process helps to “disarm” harmful free radicals and toxins, including potential carcinogens. This is one of the main reasons why cruciferous vegetables also appear to lower risk of cancer more effectively than other vegetables and fruits. From the research so far, it appears that a person would need to consume at least 2-3 servings a week of broccoli to gain significant health benefits.
Eat broccoli at least 3 times a week…
